About Me
I am a Venezuelan bilingual journalism student at the University of Florida specializing in broadcast journalism. After experiencing firsthand how negative stereotypes about Venezuelans can shape the way people see me, I decided to pursue a kind of journalism that is fair, accurate and free of sensationalism. I want audiences to see Venezuelans, and immigrants in general, as hardworking and ambitious people with real stories and dreams, not as the harmful caricatures that often appear in the news.
I report and anchor in English and Spanish for WUFT News and Noticias WUFT, working across television, radio and digital platforms. My work focuses on community issues, public safety and the experiences of Hispanic and immigrant communities in North Central Florida. I especially enjoy covering stories that explain how government decisions, policies and local changes affect people’s everyday lives.
My goal is to build a career in bilingual news where I can inform, provide context and challenge stereotypes while staying true to honest and responsible journalism. I believe in storytelling that listens to communities, checks facts carefully and puts people, rather than headlines, at the center of every story.
